Thanks, Anna

Thanks to my good friend, Anna, (Anna, did you know we're "good" friends, well we are, and you like it!) my blog will soon be looking fabulous! She asked if I have ADD, and of course I answered, "No! Gosh, everybody knows I have ADHD. Besides, I generally do my blogging long after my medication has worn off." At any rate, when I get back from Vegas Anna has promised to come over and fix my big, fat, blogging catastrophe. So, if you check my blog in mid-March, and it's still a hot mess you all can blame it on Anna.

Lyndee Speaks Out

I spoke in front of our State House of Education Committee on Monday. The Charter School Advocate Network is trying to have a statute passed that enables all public school students to participate in intramural extra-curricular activities. Because I've been coaching at a Charter School I was asked to speak from the point of view of a parent and coach.

The vote went really well! We tried to get this vote passed a year ago, and it failed miserably. This year it has done much better. It has gone through the senate twice. Last Friday the vote in the Representatives got very heated, and ended in a tie. Monday our network had many people, including students, in attendance, and we won unanimously! The bill now moves to the floor, and then on to the Governor.

Change of Plans

Taite is Eight! We had been planning her baptism for Saturday, March 1st, and we were going to actually have it here, in Utah. However, my parents have different plans. While walking with my dad and the dogs last week, my mom fell and broke her leg in several places. After a long surgery, and plates, pins, screws, and rods my mom spent a night in the hospital. Two days later my dad fell and broke his arm. His left arm, no less, the only one that works. He is still in the hospital. So, we'll be leaving Thursday for Vegas. Taite is being baptized with Naomi's stake. This all works really well since Naomi is the stake baptism coordinator, and Mark is in their bishopric so he will officiate. We're just excited to see all the family, and hopefully be able to stop and see the Wright's in St. George.

14th Anniversary!

Today is our 14th anniversary! Man, I totally love Redge. He's so thoughtful. I found cards hidden in my car, books, etc. He really goes the extra mile to make sure I know how much he loves me. The best part of our anniversary was getting Rock Band! I'm telling you, it's totally fun! I'll post some pics tomorrow of our whole family wailing! You gotta love stuff you can totally do as a whole family, and is completely fun as well!

Changes

Okay, I got busted. Not badly~ just a little, by my friend, Jess Betz, for not posting more often. I couldn't do it. I was feeling completely out of sorts and flustered by my blog because to me it was just a big fat mess of confusion. It was all unorganized and icky, and I didn't even want to think about it. Because of this I have decided to branch out a little bit. From now on all posts on "The Amazing Hudsons," will be my own personal entries in the main portion, and family posts in the small section. For individual postings of the kids' and/or Redge, you can click on their own individual links found in, "Links to Redge and the Kids." I will do my best to help each of them keep you all updated regarding the happenings of their lives.

By the way, I really appreciate Jess' nudge to help me get this sorted! Love you, Jess!

Yep, I cut my hair.

You may have noticed in my Dexter P.E. shirt picture that my hair is pretty much gone. It's extremely drastic. I've never gone this short before, and in the picture it's got almost a month's growth to it. I love it! Redge loves it. Seth, Taite, and Arthur love it. Reece hates it. He has told me this, oh about 7 or 8 thousand times. I have one thing to say to him regarding MY hair~ SOCKS! This is a little joke Redge and I have with our buddy, Darren Beck. Darren, like Redge, served his mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile, and the three of us take advantage of the opportunity in practicing our Spanish with one another. In Spanish the phrase, "Eso si que es," is prounounced similarly to the English sound of spelling the word, "Socks," "S-O-C-K-S." Eso si que es translates to, "It is what it is." So, Reece, my darling child, when it comes to your opinion of my hair style I have one thing to say, "Socks!"

My Poor Nieces and Nephews

As most of you know, I am constantly insisting to my nieces and nephews that, "I am the best aunt ever. I am everybody's favorite aunt! I am the fun aunt!" In order to feel worthy of this claim I have to do some pretty crazy things from time to time like: taking jumps on sleds, emailing crazy things to them, and most recently~ wearing my nephews clothes, his P.E. shirt no less. I was going through Reece's clothes trying to sort out the things he has outgrown. I found Dexter's PE shirt in the drawer, and I decided to keep it for myself. I put it on, and even wore it to the kids' school today. Reece thought it was the funniest thing ever, so he took a picture of me to email to Dexter. Here's the picture for you all to enjoy!
